(Nod to Walter Olson at Point of Law) In the course of a contest to become lead plaintiffs counsel, a Florida firm was the target of anonymous allegations. Have law firms sued other law firms (or lawyers) for trade defamation? On a related note -- and not connected to this news story -- I've often wondered if anyone has brought a Lanham Act claim against a law firm for false or misleading advertising statements about its victories and successes.

Probably not - why bring a Lanham Act claim when you can rely on your own state's overreaching rules regulating lawyer advertising?
