Law.com reports the New Jersey Supreme Court has ruled that an in-house attorney may maintain a wrongful discharge claim based on internal complaints even if she did not report the alleged misconduct to outside officials. It seems odd that the cases would have created such a requirement, but I believe NJ has less restrictive confidentiality requirements than some other jurisdictions (certainly less restrictive than CA).
