According to news accounts, German private investigators hatched a plan to collect information by planting an intern at a German law firm -- but the plan was scuttled before anyone was planted. The story made me recall how during the Boesky-Levine insider trading scandal, someone (Levine?) roamed the hallways of law firms late at night and looked at documents on lawyers' desks to see which companies might soon be acquired.
