Other web sites are discussing what commentators want in a Supreme Court nominee. What about ethics? What would you look for in a nominee? What characteristics or experiences in a nominee would improve the judiciary? For example, if a nominee has not been a judge or elected official for a long time (e.g. the nominee is or recently was a lawyer, law professor, etc.) does it matter what the nominee has done by way of pro bono representation of persons of limited means? Another issue: should a nominee be required to agree to sell all individual stocks to avoid future recusals on the Court? Perhaps the White House should hear your views, and perhaps here.
