Story here. I've sometimes wondered about an internal prediction market as a tool for training younger lawyers about outcomes. Before heading down to law and motion practice, I'd sometimes ask all the lawyers working on the matter to predict the judge's ruling and write it down on paper so we could revisit the predictions after the hearing. It was interesting to see how that one act -- writing down a prediction -- could sober up everyone's prediction. One associate in particular was uncanny with the accuracy of his predictions. As for the ethics angle, I made it a point not to oversell clients on results.
