The ABA Commission on Ethics 20/20 has released draft reports and resolutions concerning outsourcing, confidentiality issues arising from technology, and inbound foreign lawyers (specifically, Rule 5.5, the Model Rule for the Registration of In-House Counsel, and the Model Rule on Pro Hac Vice Admission). A cover memo from the Commission's co-chairs (Jamie Gorelick and Mike Traynor) is here.
The Commission plans to submit final versions of these proposals to the ABA House of Delegates in May 2012, and it is expected that the House will vote on them at its August 2012 ABA Annual Meeting. In the meantime, the Commission encourages feedback from the profession and the public so that it can revise its proposals and reports as necessary.
The Commission will be releasing additional proposals with regard to a number of other issues no later than September 2011.
