I award a plume to a student who thinks of an argument that I missed, or who corrects me in an error. (A plume is a ballpoint pen that says, "Excellent job -- Monroe Freedman" and has the scales of justice on it.) One student, Christina Flowers, has already received a plume this semester for correcting me in an error. Now she gets another for pointing out that my 3.6/3.8 analysis (posted earlier) should have included a reference to MR 3.6, Cmt. [8], which says: "See Rule 3.8(f) for additional duties of prosecutors in connection with extrajudicial statements about criminal proceedings."
