The bar has recommended that Jon Michael Alexander be disbarred for a huge list of bad acts such as failing to disclose exculpatory information and lying about it (ABA Journal; Legal Profession Blog). Two earlier high profile prosecutions of prosecutors involved Ben Fields (suspended four years) and Troy Benson (public reproval), both of Santa Clara County. It's often said that state bars don't go after prosecutors and I can't say for certain that we now have a California trend of increased enforcement, but the three cases are making waves.
