I've been following announcements about new deans at law schools. It occurred to me that if schools were businesses, the announcements of some the new deans (new CEO's) would openly be declared "turn-around" hires. The press release would trumpet that the new CEO is being brought in to address problems that the market has identified. That's a level of candor that isn't customary in the world of legal education, but perhaps it should be.
