Story at ABC News. More at ABA Journal. The 2.6 million car recall, associated with at least 13 deaths, led to an investigation conducted by Jenner & Block and the termination of 15 executives, including in-house lawyers. I'm looking for the report itself. If anyone has a link, please feel free to share it.
Bonus question: if from the outset GM were to tell J&B that the report it going to be released to the public and to Congress, would that invoke the "evaluator" role under MR 2.3? If not, how would we describe the lawyers' role under the rules?
MORE: Here's a WSJ piece on the lawyer who headed up the investigation: Anton Valukas.
The report itself is here. There's also a WSJ article on it.
